Timberland, Patagonia and Zoot Sports
All Feature New Materials from Faytex

Over the years, we’ve partnered with most of the top brands in the outdoor and athletic industries. Recently, however, we’ve developed a number of products that meet the needs and demands of today’s more knowledgeable and sophisticated consumers. These new technologies have already started to make a difference.

Our “sweat control” Dri-Lex™ fabric continues to provide unparalleled comfort and performance for outdoor enthusiasts worldwide. With recent introductions, we’ve expanded this technology to include the Dri-Lex Eco™ Collection and the Dri-Lex SmartSilver™ Nanotechnology.

The Dri-Lex Eco Collection uses recycled and renewable natural materials to provide the extraordinary moisture management for which every Dri-Lex product is known. The collection offers high performance products from materials that save natural resources and reduce environmental pollution.

Dri-lex Eco with Bamboo is a ‘natural’ for footwear, apparel and accessories. Bamboo wicks moisture away from the body, is naturally anti-bacterial, incredibly soft and comfortable and remarkably breathable. Bamboo itself is a sustainable, renewable resource. Timberland is currently featuring this fabric in its outdoor footwear range known as “B-life.”

Dri-lex Eco with Wool combines merino wool and Dri-lex technology to produce incredible moisture management. Merino wool offers natural attributes that work together with Dri-lex to provide ultra comfort, softness, temperature regulation and odor resistance. This technology is being introduced in two Patagonia shoes: the Bering and Grinnell models.

Dri-Lex with SmartSilver Nanotechnology provides a high performance and permanent anti-microbial, anti-odor benefit to footwear through SmartSilver nanotechnology while offering the superior moisture management system of Dri-Lex. This technology is currently being used in shoe lining materials, but will have additional applications with other products in the near future.

Zoot Sports, the triathlon equipment innovator, has incorporated the technology into its new ULTRA footwear line. The shoes were wear-tested at the Ironman World Championships and the feedback from athletes who competed in the shoes has been extraordinary.

We continue to pursue the development of these and other new technologies because consumers are constantly demanding products that perform better and are ‘greener.’ We owe it to our long-time partners in the industry to deliver. After years of development, it’s exciting for us to see these technologies at work.

FootJoy® Releases New ProDry™ Extreme
Performance Golf Sock
Excerpts from a news release from Footjoy August 1, 2006

Fairhaven, MA – FootJoy, maker of the #1 shoe and glove in golf, launches ProDry™ Extreme, FootJoy’s Premiere Performance Golf Sock. The new ProDry Extreme is the first golf sock in the golf industry made with Dri-Lex®, exclusive moisture control technology that is featured in FootJoy golf shoes.

“As makers of the #1 shoe in golf, core golfers look to FootJoy for the best performing golf sock in the industry,” says Jessica Hakeem, Product Marketing Manager, FootJoy Socks & Accessories. Through independent market research, conducted with over 200 wear testers throughout the country, results indicated an overwhelming preference to ProDry Extreme on the product features of comfort, fit and performance. It has been reviewed by many as “the golf sock” to look for in your drawer.

ProDry Extreme technology is temperature regulating, it absorbs and releases moisture at the same time- What this means is that the sock layer closest to the foot remains dry, cool, and comfortable. Added bonus features are that the sock resists odor, mildew, and performs even better when washed & dried with fabric softener. ProDry Extreme socks feature heel-to-toe cushioning in the sole of the sock for added comfort in your step.
